Grandma's coming with who?

Did I hear that Grandma's coming next week
to see me again?

But who's that other person that's coming too?
Who's Aunt Rosanne?

Shall I dazzle her with my smile?

But what if she wants to kiss me and
squeeze me..oh no!

She'll see how big and strong I am...

And what a little angel I can be. I can't wait till they get here!

Rings and Things

Tomorrow is the day that Rings and Things
comes to Grand Rapids. I'm ready to go spend
the afternoon with my sister Sue and Kayla.
Meeting Dort there too since I haven't seen her
in a while. I get so excited when they come to
our area. Wahoo!
After this weekend I'm pretty much gonna be
gone. Next week starts the Spring rummage
sale at our Church, if you hadn't heard it before,
its something I got involved in and then somehow
I managed to become the person in charge of it...
twice a year. Anyhoo, it sucks all my energy for
the next 7 days, starting Sunday. So I'll be
reading your blogs and falling to sleep in my dinner
after Sunday night.

Merry Christmas to Me

Its a little picture, but a BIG necklace. I treated
myself to a Christmas present and I got it in the
mail today. A Humblebead necklace and one that
I really like Ginny's glass links and now that I've
seen them up close I think I will have to get myself
a few. And OMG she has them on sale on her website!
What a conundrum, should I wait or should I CHARGE?
I'm gonna need another job if I keep it up. But then,
someone has to keep the economy going right?
Just doing my part to save the world...lol.
Tomorrow my sister Beverly is coming from NO.
She's gonna freeze her butt off. But we'll have so
much fun we won't even notice how cold it is.
I see lots of beading and card playing. Hey, I'll win
all the quarters and then I can buy more beads.
Do you hear me Mom and Bev?
I WILL win them all..hahaha.

Sisters

While Beverly was here, we all went and got haircuts.
Dorothy is the hairstylist we (Sue and I) have had for a long time.
She's very talented ...bless her heart
you have to feel sorry for her with the subjects she had
there! We tried our best to look our best for her. She sent
us all a picture for us to look at and laugh about. Beverly
headed home yesterday taking my Momma with her.

I feel like a Grandma!

Happy Mother's Day! I was so happy to wake up and
find that the geese have hatched their babies.
We have 5 little goslings following Mom and Dad
around the pond. So sweet. The little guys have a lot of
obstacles to overcome. Snapping turtles, a hawk,
a pike and who knows what else eats them. Soon as I
can get close I'll get some photos.

The first of the month was our church's annual spring
rummage and bake sale. I think I mentioned at one
time that we do it twice a year. I'm the one in charge
of getting it together, but I have the best group of ladies
that help me. Although they told me there was a method
to their madness too, nobody wants to be in charge!
Its a whole week of craziness that we do twice a year. We
sold just about every thing this year. What we didn't sell
went to the Mission for them to sell. All I have to say is,
I could see what a couch potato I was this winter...it
just about killed me.
Other than that I'm still playing with clay, knitting prayer
shawls, and this weekend I am planting my flowers. I think
its safe to say that we won't get a freeze. Knock on wood.
My sister Beverly is coming up from New Orleans this week.
We have lots of beady things planned...some new projects
using fibers, a trip to Milwaukee to the Bead and Button Show.
She's staying for about 3 weeks. Yahoo!!
Have a blessed Mother's Day!

Tropical Delight

Well boy howdy! I've finished another of the projects
I brought home with me from the cruise. This is Bev's
bracelet design/kit. It's a twisted ndebele bangle that
had my brain twisted trying to figure it out! But once
I got it, it went really fast. I really like it cause it feels
substantial.
Today was one of those perfect spring days, it almost
reached 65 degrees. Open the doors and windows please!
Bailey and I were in and out all afternoon, just enjoying
the day. Can't believe it will be Monday. But I'm sneaking
off Tuesday for a haircut and a day at the Fredrick Meijer
Gardens to look at the butterflies. It is such a beautiful
place to visit. Lots of things to do. They have an
outdoor concert area and in June Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
is going to be playing. Lots of art and of course the gardens.
Fun, fun, fun!

Sisters Rock!!!

Did I mention that I have the best family in the whole
world? Well I do...and they show the love over and over.
Not too long ago Bev (No Easy Beads) made me the best
pair of earrings and while I was wearing them I lost one.
For some reason I have been doing that a lot lately...3
times as a matter of fact. Yes, I do have rubber stoppers
and I am using them now...;^). Anyway Bev made me one
to match and them she kept going and gave me a whole
bracelet and matching pendant. I love them! I love Bev!
Ok enough of the mushy, mushy stuff.

More of Bead Cruise 2008

Here's my rendition of HumbleBeads (Heather's)
necklace that she taught on the cruise. We all had a
great time in her class. Siren's Song is a very special
piece, I just love it! Thank's Heather for pushing me
to another level of beading...I am so anal !!! LOL...

A view from our cabin waiting for our turn to leave the
port. In the background is Fort Lauderdale and a
Carnival Cruise ship.

Heading out to sea...followed by the last ship in the dock.

Bon Voyage Beverly!

One Pina Colada and looked what happened to me...

The Best Thing About Sisters

Sisters are the best...especially mine. Beverly is here from New Orleans. She brought Mom home from her stay down there. So tonight we pretended we were going to start on our beading projects, but instead we had our own "Bead Swap". We spent most of the night going through each others beads and swapping bits and pieces of each others private stash. Such fun!! Maybe tomorrow we'll start on our Bead Journal Project. We are both signed up for Robin Adkins bead embroidery project. Its a year long venture and I'm really looking forward to doing it. But that's another story entirely and I'll talk about that later. Besides, I have some new beads to drool over and that's what I'm gonna do right now...
