A Gift
Well it has been a while since I've blogged and believe me
when I say I was totally unprepared for what I found.
Who changed my blogging world? This is gonna take a little
getting used to. So instead of jumping into the Bead and Button
show goodies I got last weekend, I am gonna start with a post about
a beautiful gift from my sister Beverly. It arrived just a day before
I left for Wisconsin, I knew something was coming (Beverly almost
had to cut her tongue out so she wouldn't tell me!).
I was thrilled when I opened the box and found this beautiful
pendant that she embroidered for me. A beautiful ceramic cab
from Summers Studio Ceramics. I love it! And I just so happened
to get a pair of shell earrings from Nancy at Round Rabbit,
(who is having a SALE). Don't they match perfectly? I thought so.
Love you Beverly!
I promise Bead and Button goodies tomorrow. Cross my heart ;^)

A Give Away
Nancy at Round Rabbit is having a give away. Go check it
out and enter, she has lots of ways to do it.
I'm getting some pictures together of the fun stuff I've been
doing this week. It has been a very busy one for sure.
So look for another post later on our etchings and resin
projects. It was a great learning experience and one I will
keep working at.

Blogging is like...

exercise or dieting. You know how
you go at it religiously and slowly you
drop a day or maybe two and then it
seems like you quit all together? That's
kind of the direction I see myself going in
lately, at least with my blogging. Or maybe
my life just got really boring and I don't
have much to talk about. Yeah, that's
it...I've become boring. I've been
waiting for the daffodils to push up and
bloom. And I have seen signs that this
could be happening.
Actually, I've purchased a couple of really
great beading books and have enjoyed
pouring over the pages. Lot's of inspiration
going on there. The two books I got are:
A Charming Exchange
by Kelly Snelling and Ruth Rae
Semiprecious Salvage
by Stephanie Lee
Love them both, but my real favorite is
The Semiprecious Salvage. I find myself
thumbing through it quite a bit and actually
reading (I know that sounds bad). Usually
I look at the pictures or jump right to the
directions. But Stephanie has little stories
written through out the book, like pages of
a journal. She has some very interesting
ideas for making found art items.
And last, but not least Nancy at the Rabbit Muse
is having a great sale in her Etsy shop. 25%
off everything till April 5th. That's no joke
either. I'm gonna roam around her shop and
see if there's something I might need. So hop
on over and see what she has, you won't be
sorry!

I've Been Tagged!
- I was tagged by Nancy from The Rabbit Muse.
Once I started my list of "fun facts" about me, I realized
I'm a pretty eccentric woman. If you've been tagged by
me check out the rules and if you want to you can play
too. Go ahead, its really quite interesting.....
1. Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog,
some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their
names as well as links to their blog.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a
comment on their blog.
1. I used to have Arabian horses and rode Competitve
Trail Rides (GLDRA), sometimes up to 50 miles in 8 hours.
My mare's name was Chocolate Delight...lol!
2. I always wanted to be a ballerina - even took ballet
lessons in my early 20's.
3. For years I was one of the top 5 women trapshooters
in the state of Michigan.
4. I love the Blue Man Group and have secretly desired a set
of drums to beat out my frustrations on.
5. I could drive 7 miles to town just to get a cup of McDonald's
coffee...I could, but I don't!
6. I married my teenage sweetheart, we hung around together
for a while, then each married someone else, got divorced and
found each other again. Now we have been together for 32 years.
7. The last one was weird, but this is the weirdest yet, I still have the
ashes of my Schnauzer Greta by my bed in a special box.
She died in 1999, now its like I don't know what to do with them!!
So I'm gonna tag these people and see what fun stuff they come up with:
Humblebeads - Heather
Noeasybeads - Beverly
Bloggidy Blog - Aardvark Artglass - Cathy
Tiddlywinks - Scottie
Earthenwood Studios - Melanie
Kinship in Color and Wool - Brenda
Star of the East - Star

Happy Birthday to ME!

Its my birthday today! I am just now 39 years young, and if you
believe that, then I have some property in New Mexico I'd like to
sell you.

My Mom's birthday was on Monday. Here's the birthday girl wearing
her new necklace. (See post below). She loved it! But I blogged
about it before she got and wouldn't you know it, she read my blog
the day of her birthday so she knew what she was getting! We had
the best cake from Golden Brown Bakery....if you ever get to
South Haven, you have go there for a pastry. The cakes are so
yummy...I got cupcakes and took them with us to my hair stylist.
Her and her little girls like them too. But after two days of sweets I
was having nightmares and waking up like a 54 year old woman.
By the way, the decorating on the cake was messed up by me. It was
looking good in the beginning, till I added the letters.

This is my son Aman, he was my birthday surprise.
How could my baby get to be thirty five so fast? Its
a mystery to me. He wants to move back here. So he's
looking for a job and staying with us for a while. I'm not
complaining, but it sure is different having a third
person around. Throws everything out of sync. Its
kind of exhausting really. Aman and my niece went with
us (Sue and I) to get our haircut. Afterwards we went
for dinner at Johnny Carino's. My favorite place for
Italian food. Between Aman and Kayla, the testosterone
and hormones those two were throwing off to the waiters
and waitresses and the ones they were sending back ,
I was getting a headache. Take me home, please......
Anyway for my birthday the boys took me golfing with
them. I'm really liking the game. I hit a tee shot with my
driver that was so sweet! Whack! Straight as an arrow.
But then I missed A LOT of shots, too :P But its all for fun.

RoundRabbit rocks!

Here's a big "THANK YOU" Nancy! The package got here this
afternoon, so I could wrap up Mom's present and take it to her
tonight. (I thought both of the pieces were exceptional!) The blue
of this one is the color of her eyes, and by the way she's 75 years
young today. Taking more pictures tonight....

My week in a nutshell

Let's see, this week went flying by. The 18th was my little girl's eighth
birthday. Happy birthday to you Bailey! She's getting to be my little
old lady now...such a Schnauzer!
I bought a birthday present for my mom from Nancy at
roundrabbit, I couldn't make up my mind so I got two...one for
mom and one for me since my birthday is two days after hers.
I'm thinking she'd like the apple blossoms best. Blue is her
favorite color. It'll be late getting here...but she'll understand.
She already gave me my present...a mug from McDonald's that
holds 14 oz. of coffee and I get free refills till the 31st of December!
I love their coffee...um, um, um, unlimited refills....
I'll be bouncing off the walls for sure.
I got crowns (temps for now) put on my front teeth and now I am
speaking with a lisp! Not just a little one, but I have to really
think about what I'm saying...its like I have mush in my mouth.
Geary says he couldn't tell the difference..hahaha!!! So I do a lot
of singing in the car and talking...you know "she sells seashells...
blah, blah, blah." Sometime it works.
But the good news is....my SON is coming home! I haven't seen
him in three years, maybe four. He called to say he was getting on
the bus and would be here tomorrow night. I am so excited! He's
been saying he was gonna come home for months. He's got more
patience than I do....he's taking the bus all the way from Colorado.
So there it is, my week in a nutshell............
