Happy Birthday to Me

Oh lucky me, I have made it through another year!
Not that I thought for one minute that I wouldn't,
but sometimes you never know. Anyway, on Wednesday
I will be the great age of 55. Who would of thunk?
I remember (yes, my memory is still partially there) back
in elementary school thinking about the year 2000 and
what age I would be then. I couldn't comprehend being
that "old"...yet here I am. For turning 55 I can get a
tall cup of coffee at the Coffee Beanery for only $1.00.
Woohoo! So in celebration of my birthday I bought
myself a piece of jewelry from Ingrid Dijkers.
Ingrid is a multi-talented artist, not only in her
jewelry making skills, but she is a journalist and a
doll artist too.
She also has been doing the Michigan Ren Fest for a few years.
I was hoping to get there this year and visit her in her shop.
But it's looking like it won't be happening, time is running out
and there is so much to do around here. Next year for sure.

Ingrid has a nice blog, and a beautiful website.
I have so much more to write about, this week
was busy and I did so much. I'm going to get
back on the blogging, I've been missing that.

And here is Rubee Dew looking bashful. It's been one
week since we brought her home and we just adore her.
She is so different from Bailey, but that's what we love
about her. She is such a smart girl. God sent me another
Angel that's for sure.

Well shut my mouth, PEEPS!

What do you give the girl that has everything for Christmas?
You give her plush peeps. I love Peeps, I wait for Easter to come
because I know I get to treat myself to those pure sugar confections.
Its like eating sugar from the sugar bowl. Sometimes my Momma
buys them for me, isn't she special? I only buy one box, honestly.
My friend Tammi gave them to me, Bev pointed them out to her
on a shopping trip. Thanks Tammi...that's so SWEET. I also got
2 very cool pairs of fingerless mitts that Bev made me,and she gave
me a bead mat that folds up to hold your seed bead projects.
Beads from Heather...yummy. A digital picture frame from
Hubby that I have been begging for...everybody gave him
suggestions and this was one year he really listened!
Geary has this thing about not giving me something that I
might know about. An apple pie from Amiee.
A candle from Jerusalem that my mom got me.
AND I've had lots of time to spend with my family.
Beverly heads back to New Orleans today. Its sad, but I know it
won't be long and we will all be sailing the Seven Seas on the
Bead Cruise. We made a trip to the bead store yesterday and all
made a bracelet when we got back. Its fun to sit and bead with the
whole family. Amiee made her first bracelet ever and Heather was
finessing her Ndebele techniques.
I'll take more pictures later for show and tell.

A Christmas Annie

I've put up my beads for a while and dragged out my sewing
machine. I'm thinking of Christmas and using up my stash
of materials. I got this really cute pattern from an Etsy shop
called bowlsnannies . De is the designer and she makes the
sweetest dolls and offers the patterns for sale.
So I got the one below:

Cyndy Ann...
Isn't she just the sweetest thing? How can you not want one?
Another favorite of mine is this little one, My Annie:

I love her pink hair! It's so sweet. like cotton candy.
So, I have most of the stuff I need, except in all my HUGE stash
of yarn, can you believe that I have NOTHING that could
serve for hair? So I thought I would go to town and check out
the new yarn shop. Needle in a Haystack, keep it local like
I should. It's really a nice shop and the people are so helpful.
I found two patterns that I had to have. Felted slippers like the
flip flops you wear around the swimming pool.
(Remember... warm sunny days:0)
And a pattern for a sweet pair of baby booties.
And yes, I found the two perfect yarns for hair on the Annies.

These are the best colors. But I had a bit of sticker shock when I
paid for the two. Oh well, it's for the Annies....

My week in a nutshell

Let's see, this week went flying by. The 18th was my little girl's eighth
birthday. Happy birthday to you Bailey! She's getting to be my little
old lady now...such a Schnauzer!

I bought a birthday present for my mom from Nancy at
roundrabbit, I couldn't make up my mind so I got two...one for
mom and one for me since my birthday is two days after hers.
I'm thinking she'd like the apple blossoms best. Blue is her
favorite color. It'll be late getting here...but she'll understand.
She already gave me my present...a mug from McDonald's that
holds 14 oz. of coffee and I get free refills till the 31st of December!
I love their coffee...um, um, um, unlimited refills....
I'll be bouncing off the walls for sure.
I got crowns (temps for now) put on my front teeth and now I am
speaking with a lisp! Not just a little one, but I have to really
think about what I'm saying...its like I have mush in my mouth.
Geary says he couldn't tell the difference..hahaha!!! So I do a lot
of singing in the car and talking...you know "she sells seashells...
blah, blah, blah." Sometime it works.
But the good news is....my SON is coming home! I haven't seen
him in three years, maybe four. He called to say he was getting on
the bus and would be here tomorrow night. I am so excited! He's
been saying he was gonna come home for months. He's got more
patience than I do....he's taking the bus all the way from Colorado.
So there it is, my week in a nutshell............
