BTW - Bead Table Wednesday

Yeah for me! Finally I am able to get a BTW
posting done. This is what's on my table for this
week. It's getting close to Valentine's Day and I have
the "hearts" for it...plus a couple other goodies I love.
A couple of bead sets from Gaea, a very chic, shabby
heart from Menagerie Studios, Jade Scott heart, a
couple of pendants from Spirited Earth, and a couple
of other great pendants and beads. So now that I've
shown my work I 'd better get busy so I can do a
Show and Tell Friday....

Bead Table Wednesday

Heather at HumbleBeads has a little flickr
group going: Bead Table Wednesday
Just so we can take pictures of what's on our
bead table for the week. A little inspiration for us,
a nudge to keep our creative juices flowing, an
incentive to use all those good art beads and
other goodies we've just been staring at lately.
Well, maybe not for you, but this is gonna get me
motivated. Something fun for the New Year.
Grab that camera and post your projects.

I'm having a sale!

There's a sale going on in my Etsy shop. 20% off on
everything. I think its time to put in something a little
more seasonal, don't you? Summer's gone and Christmas
is right around the corner. For goodness sake! Where does
the time go?

Happy Birthday to Me

Oh lucky me, I have made it through another year!
Not that I thought for one minute that I wouldn't,
but sometimes you never know. Anyway, on Wednesday
I will be the great age of 55. Who would of thunk?
I remember (yes, my memory is still partially there) back
in elementary school thinking about the year 2000 and
what age I would be then. I couldn't comprehend being
that "old"...yet here I am. For turning 55 I can get a
tall cup of coffee at the Coffee Beanery for only $1.00.
Woohoo! So in celebration of my birthday I bought
myself a piece of jewelry from Ingrid Dijkers.
Ingrid is a multi-talented artist, not only in her
jewelry making skills, but she is a journalist and a
doll artist too.
She also has been doing the Michigan Ren Fest for a few years.
I was hoping to get there this year and visit her in her shop.
But it's looking like it won't be happening, time is running out
and there is so much to do around here. Next year for sure.

Ingrid has a nice blog, and a beautiful website.
I have so much more to write about, this week
was busy and I did so much. I'm going to get
back on the blogging, I've been missing that.

And here is Rubee Dew looking bashful. It's been one
week since we brought her home and we just adore her.
She is so different from Bailey, but that's what we love
about her. She is such a smart girl. God sent me another
Angel that's for sure.

Little Pretties

It hasn't been a very productive week so far for me, but
I did put together a couple of bracelets and I really liked
the way they turned out....

A Humblebead focal with Vintaj bead caps and a beautiful
robin's egg raku lampwork bead from Sue Beads
(who I hear is going to Portugal, you lucky girl you, and is
giving you free shipping if you buy her beads by Saturday).
Along with some lava beads from Rings & Things and
faux beach glass from my local bead store. Let me tell you,
it looks great on a tanned arm...being that my arms and the
tops of my feet are the only things getting brown.
Who turned the oven on, cause I am cookin' this week!

Another bracelet I really like. Its a rather weighty piece.
Another Humblebead, this time her owls (so cute!).
A few of Heather's disk beads and lots of Czech glass, a
couple lampworked beads from my personal stash
(meaning I've had them for so long I can't remember
where I got them)and some beads from Quest Beads.

I wire wrapped the owl and made the clasp from wire
purchased from Bello Modo. I really like Heather's
whimsical creatures, they just make things fun.

Humblebeads is having a sale!

If you've ever bought her beads or read her blog, now is the chance
to purchase a piece of jewelry made by her own little hands.
Humblebeads is having a jewelry sale. I've already picked my
favorite, but there's still some left for everybody else.
Some of the pieces are things she's shown on her blog,
like her collaboration pieces .
She's taken 30% off her asking price too. And she's getting to be more
famous all the time...she's a Bead Star winner and is gonna be in the
Bead Star magazine coming out next week.
Did you know she is my niece?
I'm just a little asteroid floating around in her universe....
I'm so proud of her!
And Beverly Herman is getting a dove too! I'll hold it till she comes
home next week. I can hardly wait!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, The Next New.....

Bead Star Winner Could Be....!!!!

OK people, listen up! The people at Beadingdailey.com
have been doing this contest for the cover of the next
new Bead Star magazine. They have all the finalist picked
and now its our turn to vote for the winners. It just so
happens that I know the person who has not ONE but TWO
necklaces in the finals.......TA DA....
Key to My Heart
Sea Urchin
Now I'm not partial to her just cause I'm her
Aunt, but I sure do love her beads and jewelry.
So if you like the look of her pieces, why don't you
vote for her?

Dort Designs

My Beading Buddy has finally got her own
website. Dort Designs is now open for your
viewing and shopping pleasure. Dort has
been designing and selling her jewelry for about
6 years now. Lots of fun pieces, incorporating
natural stone, seedbeads, and glass. Her designs
are simple, yet eloquent. Dort has a great eye
for color and texture combinations.

And I even have a piece named after me!
(She knows I have a thing for pearls.)

Classic Black and White

This is a special set I made for my niece Kayla. She's a tough
one to get anything for. Being a teenager is one reason, the
other is that her and my tastes run totally opposite of each other.
Maybe it's our age differences? or am I too eccentric and just not
cool? I remember I was cool at one time....
But with these fine beads from Earthenwood Studios, I knew I
couldn't go wrong! I just added a simple cord to the necklace,
used some black horn that I've had for ages, the leaves were
perfect. For the bracelet, I add crystals, some silver beads and
Melanie's accent beads and I had another winner.
I was thinking the other day while I was shopping, that I could
tell by the color (mostly black) that it was getting close to winter.
I always wear a lot of black in the winter time. Probably cause its
too freaking hot to wear in the summer? Ya think?

Copper Moon

Finally after three days and I don't know how
many pictures, I managed to get one that looked
halfway decent. I'm thinking that its the metallic
beads that make it hard to get a good picture of.
Most of the time it was blurry...
Anyway, this is a bracelet I have done for my sister
Susan. The focal face is a raku bead from RAMA
(Emerald's Beads). A couple of rose montes and
czech stars sewn in with lots of coppery seed beads.
The background is adhered to a copper ultra suede.
A nice warm autumn look.
