Spring's almost here...

Yep, spring is almost here, we can see the deer moving.
OK, that's not my joke someone sent it to me,
but it was kind of cute. Poor things, I really haven't been
seeing any critters lately. They seem to be hunkered down
for a while. I was thinking that Ground Hog Day is almost here.
I love that movie with Bill Murray, must have watched it
a dozen times.
Mom made it out to Arizona to see Dane and his parents
yesterday. I hope she's enjoying the warmth.
I know she's having fun with the baby.
I love this picture.

Good News!

This is an old picture of Bailey, but its one of my favorites.
She doesn't get those snowballs on her feet like she used to,
cause her Momma bought her boots to wear.
Aha...spoiled brat.
Just to let you know, my Aunt had her surgery and made it into
recovery. She is stable and we are on our way to see her today.
It took all of 12 hours and 5 Doctors to do this task.
Bone was take from her shoulder and a metal plate put in
her jaw to replace part of the bone. Lymph nodes removed,
with only one having enough to be biopsied.
But that was attached to her jugular vein and part
of the vein had to be removed. Thanks for all your thoughts
and prayers, she's got a long road of recovery ahead
and needs those prayers to help her through. I
totally believe in the power of prayer.
Again, thanks! I'll be back the beginning of next week.
Unless I find a computer in the lobby.
(It's like going through withdrawal not having a computer).

The Bead Star winner is coming...

The Bead Star winner is coming!
Bought my magazine yesterday.
Won't be long and Heather (a winner)
and family will be starting out for the
Great White Frozen Tundra. I love
this time of year. All of the family
hanging out and doing stuff. We're
all having a sleep over one night in
GR. Movies to watch, Wall E, Kung Fu Panda,
and Return to Narnia...We're all big kids at heart
around here. Ornaments to make.
I got some patterns for elf shoe ornaments,
gingerbread people and Bev got some
ornament kits too. Sledding and skating...
none of which I'm participating in.
We'll put together jigsaw puzzles.
A trip to the bead store is planned.
Card games to play.
I'm feeling the Christmas love, now if the
weather would just cooperate it would
be perfect. Its looking like a white
Christmas for sure.

Pretty as a picture

This is the picture I get to see a lot of the time I look out my bedroom
window. Sometimes these girls are laying down with their heads
curled around their bodies, by their feet. I hope the winter won't
be too hard on them this year. Can't feed them, I believe that
nature should take its own course. OK, I take that back, once in a
while I throw apples out in the woods. Shhh...don't tell anybody.
Sometimes they feel so safe, they come into the backyard.
We're getting lots of snow today and its the last real day at work.
We're all off till the first of the year. 2009 who would have thought ...

OK, so I took pictures!

At least 14 inches...no kidding!
I know whats going on....I'm livin' a Steven King movie.
It sure looks and feels like a nightmare to me...lol!
We will call it The Snow.

Just a few weeks ago I was cruising the open seas and
then I was rudely awakened to this stuff. But the sun is
shinning and it will all turn to slush and disappear soon.
My pair of Canadian geese circled the pond honking
despairingly and then flew off. The Easter egg hunts are
called off all over our area, I'm sure the Easter Bunny's
tail would freeze off.
Have a Blessed Easter everyone!

What happened to most of February?

Wow, I can't believe I haven't put anything down for two
weeks. Must be because nothing changed, we've had snow,
snow and more snow. I've worked a little on getting my
Etsy shop going....2ndhandrose. Just got my avitar done,
(thank you sister Bevvie for all your help with that)
business cards were here, but printed wrong, so that's another
half a week coming. Then I just need to upload pictures and
I will be good to go! Some knitted scarves, hand knotted
double fleece blankets ( I have been hiding under one for days)
really warm and cosy.
In exactly two weeks I will be flying to Fort Lauderdale and
then cruising the ocean blue with the Bead Cruise 2008 girls.
I have been looking forward to that since I got off the boat
from the 2007 cruise!
I do have a project I am working on, it has a butterfly theme.
As soon as I get it finished I'll post that too. And something
called Tit Bits and Cotton Boobs, making prostetics for women
made from yarn.
Keep warm everyone! I feel Spring in the air!

Bailey Got Boots!

Bailey's Christmas Boots! All they need are
beads or maybe some bells and they would be
lookin' good!

She won't wear a hat, but I could bribe her with
biscuits and she let me put the boots on. Didn't
take long for her to be off and running!

Bailey loves pouncing on the snow banks that
Geary plows. She's getting ready to leap!

Just a reminder to myself!

Can you believe its November already? Last night we
got our first really hard frost. For the first time in
months I haven't broken out in a sweat
(that m-pause thing). The leaves are almost off
all the trees and Geary said he's mowed the lawn for
the last time. It gets pretty chilly at night but I'm not
turning on the furnace yet. Geary's fantasy is one that
we get to move to an island for the winter.
( What?...I thought I was his fantasy)
Not sure when that one will happen. Bailey is just happy
doing whatever. She really likes the snow.
Chews on the mounds of snow, sticks her face right
in the soft stuff and comes up with balls all
stuck to her beard. I took this picture few years ago.
It made it on TV during the weather,
so she's had her 15 seconds of fame.
People even asked me if it was my dog they saw.
What I'm saying is that getting colder all the time.

This was what winter looked like last year. Just a
reminder for myself. That's why we are taking a
trip to Las Vegas, that and we always have a good time
there. Warm sunshiny weather and a visit with my daughter.
We haven't seen each other for a few years.
Its gonna be a fun time! Later....
I want to finish a necklace to wear, a good luck charm,
maybe?
