I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Christmas e-mails

I have a list of people I know,
all in my e-mail address book,
And now, at Christmas time
I have gone to take a look.
And that is when I realize these names...
they are a part,
Not of the PC they're stored in,
but taken from my heart.
For each name stands for someone
who has crossed my path sometime,
And in that meeting they've become
the rhythm in each rhyme.
And while it sounds fantastic
for me to make this claim,
I feel that I'm composed
of each remembered name.
And while you may not be aware
of any special link,
Just meeting you has changed my life,
a lot more than you think!
For once I have met somebody,
the years cannot erase,
The memory of a pleasant word
of an E-mail or a friendly face.
So never think my Christmas E-mails
are just a mere routine,
Of names upon an address list,
forgotten in between.
For when I do a Christmas E-mail that is
addressed to you,
It's because you're on the list
of people I'm indebted to.
And whether I have known you
for many years or few,
In some way you have been a part
of shaping things I do.
And now that Christmas has come,
I realize anew,
The best gift life can offer
is meeting people like you

A Thought
It's been a bit of a strange week all the way around.
I've come to the conclusion though, that my little
worries are nothing compared to the challenges
that some people have to go through. I swear I'm
gonna remember this whenever I start to complain
or feel sorry for myself. A good friend of mine sent
this to me today as a gentle reminder. Thanks Nancy!
THINGS I AM THANKFUL FOR:
I'M THANKFUL THAT I HAVE ONE LEG,
TO LIMP IS NO DISGRACE.
ALTHOUGH I CAN'T BE NUMBER ONE,
I STILL CAN RUN THE RACE.
IT'S NOT THE THINGS YOU CANNOT DO,
THAT MAKES YOU WHAT YOU ARE.
IT'S DOING GOOD WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT
THAT LIGHTS THE "MORNING STAR".
